Gisborne. "Shop Local in Gisborne" - as this little bird told me ( actually a Waxeye/Silvereye/White-eye all dressed up in green with a ring of tiny White feathers around  its eye). In Maori the bird is called Tauhou - The Stranger, which apparently arrived in New Zealand from Tasmania in 1856.

This little feathered friend has also taken a liking to the fast disappearing fruit of our sole Persimmon tree.
