Sport Gisborne Tairawhiti (SGT) is the Regional Sports Trust for the Gisborne area.

A not-for-profit organisation funded mainly by Sport New Zealand, SGT is one of 17 Regional Sports Trusts nationwide.

SGT provides a range of programmes and services that support its goal of enabling access to lifelong participation in sport and physical activity, for people of all ages and walks of life in Gisborne.

SGT works across the health, recreation and sports sectors, from providing movement classes in early childhood centres to managing the Kiwisport programme in schools, supporting clubs to grow their capability and memberships, and providing healthy lifestyle education and opportunities through initiatives such as Green Prescription.

SGT collaborates with sports clubs, schools, social services organisations, health providers and Gisborne District Council, and services the region from Potaka on the East Coast, down through Gisborne city to the Gisborne-side of Mahia.
