The Dancing For Life Education competition on 29 May 2021 was organised to raise money for the Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa

Community leaders put on their dancing shoes and busted some moves to raise money for the Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa

The Dancing For Life Education competition was held on May 2021 was fierce as wannabe Fred Astaires and Ginger Rogers showcase a variety of styles, including foxtrot, salsa, rock n' roll and hip-hop.

Contestants with no previous dance experience dedicated hours of practice to learning challenging routines to impress the audience.
“Life Education has chosen Dancing for Life Education as its major fundraiser,” says Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa chairwoman Pat Seymour.

“We appreciate the huge community support we have had for Fight for Life (amateur boxing) fundraisers (in the past) and we hope to see all our friends and supporters enjoy this great new event for our community.”
Life Education annually teaches around 5500 children from years 1 to 8 in Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa.

“Some schools choose to have Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa bi-annually but we teach in most primary and kura every year,” Mrs Seymour said.
“The trust educator spends term 1 in the Wairoa region, terms 2 and 3 in the greater Gisborne city region and rural areas, and term 4 with East Coast schools and kura.

All funds raised from Dancing for Life Education support the trust to empower and educate children to make healthy choices and live full, healthy lives.
“This ‘feel-good' night out is the opportunity to show your support to our wonderful dancers and Life Education, which works so closely with children and schools in the area,” says event manager Kathy Sheldrake.

“Thank you for joining us on the night of glam, grooving and great music as we cheered on our fantastic dancers at the War Memorial Theatre.”
