Kelly & Alex Hyland

We are Kelly and Alex Hyland, and lucky enough to be the only husband and wife couple.

Alex is a local Gizzy boy and has been working for Steve Wolter Plumbing for 11 years.

We met in 2014 whilst I was training at Gisborne hospital to be a dietitian.

It was love at first sight.

I have been in Gisborne ever since and now work at Gisborne Boys’ High School as a science teacher.

Alex and I both enjoy our sport where Alex is out on the water with the rowing club most evenings (training and coaching), and I spend a bit of time in the air with the newish aerial silks club.

We are both busy people and sometimes find it hard to spend quality time together. Dancing for Life was the perfect opportunity to fill that gap with something that is new to us both.

Given our experience with today’s youth, we 100% support Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa’s goal of inspiring tamariki and rangatahi to make positive health choices. We are excited to be a part of this and hope the Trust continues to do the great job it has been doing since 1988.
