My name is Sam Aberahama and I am the Police Commander in Tairāwhiti.
I am married to Cathy and we have three amazing tamariki and four mokopuna.
I was born and schooled in Hastings, studied and joined the police in Auckland before shifting to Gisborne in 2009. We have lived in Gisborne and love the region, we have truly found a home in Te Tairāwhiti.
Life Education Trust Inc. Gisborne, East Coast and Wairoa is a great cause, further enhancing development for our children in learning.
I have an awesome dance partner in Nicks and dance teacher in Anita. Looking forward to the night, hanging with friends, whanau & having a lot of fun.
Having spent a large part of my career working with youth, I have been exposed to a lot of the challenges children in today’s world face.
This event has provided me with an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, while raising money for a cause I believe in. Life skills are crucial for a child’s resilience and health & wellbeing.
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”
